Traffic pressure is increasing on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway even at the end of the Eid journey. Over three crore tolls have been collected on Bangabandhu Bridge in the last 24 hours.
Bangabandhu Bridge Executive Engineer Ahsanul Kabir Pavel said that 43 thousand 427 vehicles crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge in 24 hours from Sunday (April 7) at 12:00 pm to Monday (April 8) at 12:00 pm. 3 crore three lakh 66 thousand 850 taka has been collected from it.
1 crore 71 lakh 4 thousand 950 taka was collected against 27 thousand 232 vehicles on the east bank of Bangabandhu Bridge. And 1 crore 32 lakh 61 thousand 900 taka was collected against 16 thousand 195 vehicles on the west side of Bangabandhu Bridge. – he added.
Ahsanul Kabir Pavel also said that during normal time, toll is collected through 12 booths on both sides of the bridge, but on Eid, toll is being collected at 18 booths with a separate motorcycle lane.
