Trains are starting to run in Sylhet from today


Bangladesh Railway has announced that trains will run on Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route as the flood situation in Sylhet region is somewhat normal. Passengers of this route will be able to travel by train from today Saturday.

Bangladesh Railway Director (Public Relations) told the media on Friday (August 23) midnight. Nahid Hasan Khan.

He said that Jayantika Express will leave Dhaka for Sylhet today Saturday at 11:15 am. Besides, Kalani Express (773), Upaban Express (739/740) and No. 10 Surma Mail will be operated. Tickets for the trains on that route are available online since night.

Earlier on August 21 due to excessive rainfall and rise in the water level of the Khoai river, the water level of railway bridge number 98 from 260/9 to 261/1 km of Shaistaganj-Laskarpur section was stopped due to the risk of train movement.
