Trains will run on Dhaka-Chittagong-Sylhet route from today

Several trains which were stopped due to floods in the eastern region will run from today. Bangladesh Railways has decided to run trains due to some improvement in the flood situation. Meanwhile, Railway Director General Sardar Shahadat Ali and Eastern Region General Manager Nazmul Islam have visited the affected railway line in Feni area. Then came the decision to run the train.

Bangladesh Railway Director (Public Relations) on Monday (August 26) night. Nahid Hasan Khan informed the matter.

He said that the down line from Feni towards Chittagong has been made suitable for train movement. It will take a few more days to make the up line from Chittagong towards Feni suitable for train movement.

The trains that will run today

Dhaka/Chittagong Mail (1/2), Karnaphuli Express (3/4), Mahanagar Godhuli/Prabhati (703/704), Turna Nishitha Express (741/742), Dhaka-Chittagong Suvarna Express on Chittagong-Dhaka-Chittagram route ( 702) and Tourist Express (815) on Cox's Bazar-Dhaka route.

Chittagong-Sylhet route Paharika Express (719), Sylhet-Chittagong route Udayan Express (724) and Chittagong-Chandpur-Chittagong route Sagarika Express (29/30).

Besides, fuel oil train and container train will run from Chittagong.

Railway departmental transport officials said that there are two lines on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Dhaka railway. One line (Chittagong-Dhaka) is more affected by current. The other (Dhaka-Chittagong) is comparatively less. It has been renovated and made suitable for trains.

There are 11 intercity trains plying daily from Chittagong to Dhaka, Jamalpur, Sylhet and Chandpur. Apart from this, local and commuter trains also run regularly on Cox's Bazar, Nazirhat, Chandpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh routes.
