Transfer of 168 lower court judges


The government has transferred 168 judges of the rank of Additional District Judge, Joint District Judge, Senior Assistant Judge and Assistant Judge. On Sunday (September 8), a notification has been issued by the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to transfer them.

The transferred judges include 114 Senior Assistant Judges and Assistant Judges, 47 Additional District Judges and 7 Joint District Judges. Law and Justice Department said that these officers of Bangladesh Judicial Service have been transferred in consultation with the Supreme Court.

The notification directs the transferred Additional District Judges to join the transferred posts immediately on 12th September to the designated officer of the District and Sessions Judge/Metropolitan Sessions Judge/Head of Office.

Immediate transfer of transferred Senior Assistant Judges and Assistant Judges to the District and Sessions Judge/Chief Metropolitan Magistrate/Chief Judicial Magistrate or Head of Department Designated Officer on 12th September and Judges on training/vacation on joining duty after training/vacation. The notification is directed to join the workplace.

The transferred Joint District Judges have been directed to join the transferred posts by handing over the charge of their present post to the designated officer of the District and Sessions Judge/Chief Metropolitan Magistrate by September 10.
