Tulip Siddique wants to meet Dr. Yunus – Bangladesh Diplomat

The chief adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh visiting London next week. Former UK City Minister Tulip Siddique has requested a meeting with Muhammad Yunus.

On Sunday (June 5th), the British daily The Guardian said, Dr. Tulip gave a letter to Yunus.

In the letter, Tulip Siddique writes that he wants the meeting to eliminate the 'political motivated' allegations filed by the Bangladesh Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC) and the 'misunderstanding' created around it.

In the letter, Tulip said, “If you meet during your visit to London, I will have the opportunity to clear my statement about some questions related to my canal (Sheikh Hasina).”

He also wrote, 'I am a British citizen born in London. For the past decade, I have served as MP from Hampsted and Higgate. Although there is a passion for Bangladesh, I was not born there, I did not live, and even no business interests. '

Tulip alleged that his lawyers tried to contact the ACC from London but did not answer. Rather, the ACC is sending documents to an 'unknown address' of Dhaka city. “Every step of this so -called investigation is being leaked in the media, while no formal contact has been made,” he said.

In the letter, Tulip also mentioned, “You must realize how these allegations are obstructing my duties as my MP and obstructing my commitment to the country.”

Last year, the UK's ministerial standard adviser, Lorry Magnes Tulip, resigned from the complaint, but he resigned. He said the debate could become embarrassing for the Labor Party leader Kier Starmar's government.
