A Turkish national has been shot dead by other officers at the scene after he stabbed a policeman at Israel's Jerusalem border.
The incident happened on Tuesday (April 30) citing the Israeli police, Al Arabiya and Reuters news agency reported.
According to the report, the border policeman suffered 'moderate' injuries in the stabbing. Police have identified the attacker as a 34-year-old Turk.
Israeli security forces have been on high alert since the Hamas attack on October 7.
“An armed terrorist came into Jerusalem's Old City with a knife … he stabbed the victim's border police officer,” police said in a statement.
The statement added, 'The injured policeman and another officer at the scene engaged the assailant and shot him; who was later declared dead.' Source: Reuters
