Two arrested with 127 sacks of sugar in Shaistaganj

The police have arrested two persons named Rahim Mia (20) and Utsha Pal (27) along with 127 sacks of Indian sugar which came illegally in Shaistaganj of Habiganj district.

The arrested Rahim Mia is a resident of Haripur village of Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet district and Uday Pal is a resident of Udayan residential area of ​​Shaestaganj municipality.

On Thursday (May 30), a group of policemen led by Shaistaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain Bhuiyan and OC (Investigation) Uttam Kumar Das, including SI Zakaria Ahmed, seized these sugars from a warehouse on Hospital Road in the municipal town. At that time they arrested the two people. A police case has been filed in this regard.

On Friday (May 31), OC Mubarak Hossain Bhuiyan said that the sugar was illegally imported from India and kept in warehouse. The police got the tip off and arrested two people including Chini. Whether anyone else is involved in this matter is being investigated. No one involved will be exempted.
