Two cases in Kishoreganj in the name of brother-sister-nephew of the former president

Former President Abdul Hamid's sister Achia Alam, former chairman of Mithamain Upazila of Kishoreganj district, brother Upazila Awami League President Principal Abdul Haque Nuru and nephew Mithamain Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Sharif Kamal have been accused in two cases.

On Monday (August 19) afternoon, Mithamain police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ahsan Habib confirmed the two cases.

He said that these two cases have been filed under the attack, vandalism, robbery and explosives law. Mithamain Upazila Jubo Dal convener Imran Hossain Jerry and Upazila BNP president Zahidul Alam Jahangir's nephew Farhan Sikder filed two cases as plaintiffs. No accused has been arrested in the case yet. Names of 47 people have been named in the first case and 45 in the second case.

According to the written statement of the case, the leaders and activists of Mithamain Upazila BNP and other organizations took out a joyous procession on the news of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's departure during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5. After the procession arrived in front of the BNP office, Awami League and its affiliates took out a counter procession and attacked the BNP procession from the opposite direction. In this attack, many leaders and activists including the convener of the Upazila Jubodal Imran Hossain Jerry were injured.

Besides, on the way back after attacking the BNP procession, Awami League leaders and activists entered the Panchphodan hotel of Shahril Alam Tapan, the elder brother of Upazila BNP president Zahidul Alam Jahangir, and vandalized the hotel.

In the two cases, former President Abdul Hamid's sister, ex-Chairman of Mithamin Upazila Achia Alam, younger brother Principal Abdul Haque Nuru and nephew of Mithamin Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Sharif Kamal have been accused and more than a hundred unknown persons.
