Two trains collide in Gazipur


Two freight and passenger trains collided in Chhota Deora Kazibari area of ​​Gazipur on the Dhaka-Joidebpur railway. The accident happened on Friday (May 3) around 11:00.

Confirming the matter, Stationmaster of Joydevpur Railway Station Hanif Ali said that the Tangail commuter train which left from Tangail for Dhaka left at 11:00 a.m. for Dhaka after stopping at Joydevpur station.

He said, after leaving the station and reaching the outer signal, the train collided head-on with a freight train coming from the opposite direction at Kazibari Chhota Deora area of ​​Joydevpur Outer Signal while crossing the line.

In this incident, four injured persons, including the driver of the passenger train, were rescued and admitted to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. There may be more injuries. Details will be given later.

Locals said that the Tangail commuter train was going towards Dhaka in an empty state. Since the incident, trains from Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh have been stopped. After receiving the information, Gazipur Metropolitan Police, Fire Service and officials reached the spot.
