During the NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 held at Michigan International Speedway, a late caution threw a wrench in what appeared to be a straightforward victory for Tyler Reddick.

The incident occurred when Martin Truex Jr. hit the wall during the closing laps, prompting NASCAR officials to call a caution that erased Reddick’s significant lead and extended the race into overtime.

Caught on NBC Sports broadcast, Reddick angrily exclaimed to his team, as quoted by Yardbarker:

“Is this a f—ing joke? Come on. It’s bulls—. He touched the f—ing wall. … Good grief.”

The caution came at a critical moment, as Reddick had been leading comfortably and seemed poised to take the checkered flag without much contest.

Despite the setback, Reddick, who had already claimed one victory earlier in the 2024 season, managed to regain and maintain the lead in subsequent overtime laps. Reddick’s win has also seen him take the lead in the championship standings.

Truex Jr., on the other hand, moved his car efficiently to pit road despite the hit, avoiding further complications.
