UK Festival Awards announces Bristol to host 2024 edition

The UK Festival Awards returns on 3rd December 2024, hosted this year in the UK’s festival city, Bristol.

Organisers have announced this year’s awards will be held in the former industrial space, Document, with the UK’s festival industry converging to celebrate achievements and successes from the last year.

The UK Festival Awards is an annual event that celebrates the achievements and successes of the UK’s vibrant festival industry. Established in 2004, the awards recognise excellence across a broad spectrum of categories, including Best Large Festival, Best Medium-Sized Festival, and Best Small Festival, alongside accolades for innovation, sustainability, and outstanding contributions to the live events sector.

The event gathers industry professionals, artists, and festival enthusiasts to honour the creativity, hard work, and dedication that go into producing memorable festival experiences. By highlighting the best in the business, the UK Festival Awards aims to inspire continued growth and innovation within the festival community.

Past winners include Boomtown, Teddy Rocks, Glastonbury, Latitude, Kendal Calling, 2000 Trees, Burn it Down and Coast Fest, representing the full spectrum of UK festivals from all points of the compass.

Andy Lenthall, Managing Director of the UK Festival Awards explains;

“After two fantastic years in Manchester, it’s time to move to another of the UK’s festival hotspots. Bristol is another city packed with the talent, creativity and ingenuity that drives the UK’s festival scene. Our venue, Document, reflects that with its ethos of providing space for creative businesses to grow and thrive.”

Martin Page and Daniel Law Deeks, Directors of Circular Productions explained;

“We are very proud and excited to be hosting the Festival Awards at DOCUMENT this year! DOCUMENT is a vibrant, community-driven creative space in the heart of Bristol, uniting local creatives and start-ups within a dynamic warehouse setting, as well as offering versatile rooms for scalable music events, corporate gatherings, and more. A space made for music and creativity, this is the perfect venue to be celebrating the best in the festival industry.”

Carly Heath, Nighttime Economy Advisor at Bristol City Council commented.

“Bristol is very proud of our festival industry. A hub of creativity, Bristol’s festival sector includes artists, performers, production companies, suppliers and crew to all events over the UK. Bristol’s festival teams are at the leading edge of outdoor events, forging new ways of working, putting climate firmly on the agenda, and finding space to uplift local and underrepresented talent – from the stage to back of house. We are thrilled to welcome the Festival Awards and festival crews from all over the country to Bristol.”
