Union AL president Ataur detained in Tahirpur

Police have arrested Ataur Rahman (1), president of Balijuri Union AL in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj. Tahirpur Police Station arrested him from Balijuri Bazar on Thursday (August 8) at 9 pm.

Md. Ataur Rahman is the son of the deceased Haji Nabi Hossain of Balijuri Union. He is the president of Bangladesh Awami League Balijuri Union Branch and former chairman of the Balijuri Parishad.

According to police, Tahirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) conducted a special operation on the basis of secret news under the leadership and direction of Delwar Hossain. He was arrested as a suspect in the investigation.

Tahirpur Police Station Officer -in -Charge (OC) Delwar Hossain confirmed the arrest. He also said that he would be sent to court tomorrow morning.
