Vice -Chancellor Scholarship is the accused in Kubi 'questioning'

The Vice -Chancellor of Comilla University (Kubi) studying for the talented and financially illiterate students is on the list of nominees in the scholarship.

The information was revealed from the list of nominees for the scholarship on Tuesday (July 7).

It is learned that a student named Lamia Arjumand is on the list. He has been nominated for a scholarship with a CGPA of the third year of the Department of Mass Communication and ism. However, on March 7 this year, the student's teacher Kazi M. Anisul Islam alleges the answer to the answer sheet, which is under investigation. The university administration has sent the accused teacher on a compulsory leave on March 12 in the wake of the allegations.

The name of the student accused of 'question' has already been criticized for being on the list of Vice -Chancellor Scholarship Receipts. The administration says the students nominated from the department are on the list. However, this is not the final list, the administration claims it is a draft.

However, the department says no action was taken against the accused student. As a result, the administration was not informed about the allegations of involvement in questioning while making the list of scholarships.

Mahmudul Hasan, the department head of the Department of Mass Communication and ism, said, “The administration did not give me any letter that the scholarship could not be given to this student. And the investigation committee was formed only against the teacher. The student who is talking about the class-test participated in everything.”

He also said, “I have just told me from the administration to give this scholarship on the basis of merit and poverty. So what will I exclude this student? Since the allegations have not yet been proved, the administration's decision is final.

The university's registrar was not found multiple cellphone calls to find out about this.

However, Vice -Chancellor of the university Dr. Md. Haider Ali said, “There are allegations of irregularities in which he will not get this scholarship in any way. It is given from this (list) department.

On the night of March 7 this year, a complaint came to the university administration and the media workers through a mail.

According to the complaint, a student of the department has a personal relationship with teacher Kazi M Anisul Islam. He assisted him by leaking the question paper multiple times. In the mail, adequate documents were added to the student's complaint.

In this case, the second semester final examination of the third year of the 2020-21 academic year was postponed on March 12. Later, the university administration formed an inquiry committee to send him on a compulsory leave. Later, the committee was formed at the 8th Syndicate meeting of the University on April 23.
