Victim's press conference demanding cancellation of illegal recruitment

It has been reported that two persons are working in the same position at Chanchkod Nazim Uddin School and College in Gurdaspur, Natore. One has been working since 2005, the other since 2019. The name of the post is Assistant Librarian. Aleya Khatun was appointed to that position first. He has worked till now but has not been paid. Taslima Khatun, who was appointed to the same post after 14 years, is also working in the company, but she too has not been paid. The two are also signing the attendance register.

Aleya Khatun held a press conference demanding cancellation of Taslima's illegal appointment after so long. In a press conference at Upazila Muktijoddha Complex on Tuesday (September 3), the victim Aleya Khatun said – the president of the organization, former Upazila Chairman Anwar Hossain, was the leader of the Awami League, but he did not get redressal even after protesting for so long. He has been performing his duties diligently ever since he was appointed as Assistant Librarian. However, the authorities appointed another person illegally for the same position.

According to a special source, the recruiters put Aliya in trouble and again appointed Taslima Khatun in the same position in the school branch in 2019. Since the college branch is not an MPO, Alaire has not been paid till now. In that case, according to the rules, Alayi could have been considered as the assistant librarian of the school branch under the MPO. But he was a victim of hidden fraud. The authorities created a controversy by appointing Taslima Khatun to the same post with unethical benefits.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer Salim Akhter said, according to the government recruitment rules, there is one post of assistant librarian in schools and colleges. There is no possibility of appointing two people in that position. The current acting principal of the institution. Jalal Uddin said, Aleya Khatun has been serving since she was appointed as assistant librarian in 2005. Taslima Khatun, appointed in the same post in 2019, is also signing the attendance sheet. We are embarrassed that the matter has not been addressed.

In this regard, the then principal Zainal Abedin said that Taslima Khatun was appointed as the post of assistant librarian was vacant. He was not aware of any previous appointment in the same post.

Awami League leader Anwar Hossain, the former president of the board of directors, said that Taslima Khatun was appointed as assistant library and information science posts were vacant. Salma Akhtar said, two people are not allowed to work in the same position. Necessary action will be taken after investigation.
