Warning in areas where storms are forecast, river ports

The Meteorological Department has said that there may be temporary gusty or gusty winds with a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour over the three districts of the country. This information was given in the weather forecast for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm on Thursday (August 29).

It is said that over Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet region, there may be rain or thundershower with gusty wind at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour from south southeast. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

The low pressure over Bihar and adjoining areas has weakened and joined the monsoon axis. The extension of monsoon axis extends over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and southern parts of Bangladesh to Assam. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay of Bengal.
