We believe in relationship with all: BNP to Russia

BNP has held a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexander Mantitsky. Meanwhile, BNP told the Russian ambassador that they believe in relations with everyone. The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Thursday (August 29) morning.

After the meeting, BNP National Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, “We have had a cordial meeting with Russia.” In the meeting, there was a discussion on trade and energy investment between the two countries. What will be the future relationship of Bangladesh with Russia? We have clearly said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party believes in relations with all.

Besides, the Russian ambassador wanted to know about the electoral system of Bangladesh. We have not mentioned the time frame of the election. We have said we support the current interim government, support all their work and initiatives and we work together. Along with that, the issues that are being discussed about the reforms of the government and constitutional institutions of the current government have been discussed. Naturally, everyone wants to know about the position of today and the future.

He said that the interim government should do their work. Elections must also be held, and work must be done for the people. It is better for everyone if these actions are done within a reasonable time frame.

In response to the question whether there was a discussion about the corruption allegations of the former prime minister in Rooppur nuclear power plant, he said that BNP is not in power at the moment. So we cannot judge at this time. If BNP comes to power, it can be discussed.
