What Boomer Mom Does for Adult Daughter Each Day Before Work Melts Hearts

A mom’s way of seeing her daughter off before she commutes to work has melted the hearts of viewers online.

Rachel Thanasoulis’ mom, Colleen, lovingly waves her daughter goodbye every morning before she takes the train from her hometown to her workplace. Thanasoulis, a 30-year-old entertainment attorney from New York, shared a compilation of her mother bidding her farewell to TikTok on April 22. The post, shared under @cryinglawyer, has garnered over 202,000 likes and led to an outpouring of emotion among users on the platform.

Viewers were able to see Colleen, affectionately known as “CeCe,” sending her elder daughter kisses, love hearts, and making the sign of the cross from outside the window of her train. An overlaid text on the video read: “When you’re 30 but your mom still likes to go to the train station with you on your way to work.”

“My mom is the most hardworking and loving person,” Thanasoulis told Newsweek. “She has always gone above and beyond for me and my sister, and we are forever grateful to her.

She added: “I thought that the video would garner a decent amount of views, but never in our wildest dreams did we think that it would become what it has become.”

To date, her post has been viewed more than 1.2 million times. The sentimental video has struck a chord with viewers online, many of whom expressed admiration for the close bond between Thanasoulis and her mother.

Colleen, a single mother to Thanasoulis and her sister, Alexis-Nicole, has always been a pillar of love and support for her daughters. Despite being in her 30s, Thanasoulis values the small, daily gestures of love from her mother, something that has clearly resonated with viewers online.

“My mom and I share a lot of similar interests,” she said. “In our free time, we both love to visit the beach, cook, sing around the house, or stop at TJ Maxx or HomeGoods, especially for some home decor.”
