What Modi told Biden about Bangladesh

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently returned home after visiting war-torn Ukraine. After that, he spoke on the phone with US President Joe Biden about the situation in that country. Along with Ukraine, Bangladesh has also been discussed there. Narendra Modi himself said this after a phone conversation with the US President on Monday (August 26). News of Anandabazar.

“We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and emphasized the need for speedy restoration of normalcy,” Modi wrote on the X handle. Emphasized on ensuring safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus in Bangladesh.'

Earlier on August 15 on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Modi expressed concern in this regard in his address to the countrymen at the Red Fort in Delhi. He said, '140 crore Indian Hindus are worried about the security of minorities in Bangladesh. India is always well wisher of Bangladesh. India wants the progress of Bangladesh. We hope the situation in Bangladesh will be normal soon. Indians want security of all minorities including Hindus in Bangladesh.'

Prime Minister Modi said that the topic of Ukraine also came up in the telephone conversation with Biden on Monday. He wrote on X Post, “We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and international issues, including the situation in Ukraine.”

Incidentally, Modi met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this week in Kiev, amid a war situation. This is the first time since 1991 that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Ukraine.

On July 8, Modi visited Russia after participating in a bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin. It is believed that the Prime Minister of India went to Russia's enemy country with a message of balance in the diplomatic field. Critics, however, say that his visit is to satisfy the Western world, including America.
