Will Smith Video Has Viewers All Saying Same Thing

Movie fans couldn’t help but draw comparisons to a vintage Will Smith role after the star had a reaction to spicy food during an interview.

Smith, 55, sat down with Sean Evans, the host of the YouTube show Hot Ones, to discuss his career and new movie, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

In 2022, Smith stormed the Oscars stage and slapped host Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The actor, who received a 10-year ban from Academy Awards events, is on a comeback tour to rehabilitate his reputation.

On Hot Ones, Evans interviews celebrities as they eat chicken wings covered with increasingly spicy sauces. The episodes usually end with the celebrity struggling to answer serious questions while battling the intensity of the sauces, which was the case for Smith.

“It’s making my eyes water in a unique way,” the actor said, adding, “That one had a reaction with my tear ducts.”

Smith tried to dab at his tearing eyes but appeared to have a reaction to one of the hot sauces, with his face seeming to puff up.

Viewers quickly drew comparisons to Alex Hitchens, Smith’s character in the movie Hitch, with one writing, “Feel like I was watching an extended cut of the scene in Hitch when he has the allergic reaction.”

In the 2005 film, Smith plays a dating expert who, in one scene, has a severe allergic reaction to shellfish and breaks out in hives.

“Will looking like he did in Hitch when he had an allergic reaction to shellfish,” a viewer commented on the Hot Ones video.

Another added, “There is a point when Will looks EXACTLY like Hitch during his allergic reaction.”

In the interview, Smith also spoke about getting hit on sets. Discussing his work on Ali, the 2001 Muhammad Ali biopic, he said, “That was like the hardest I’ve ever been hit on a movie set.”

The actor said of one particular blow: “It didn’t knock my head back. It compressed my neck down onto my spine. I felt an electrical shock go down the back of both arms to my elbows.”

In the video’s comments section, viewers also discussed the Oscars slap.

“They should have known the entire comment section would be nothing but slap jokes lol,” one user wrote.

“You cannot tell me that the question about what the hardest hit Will ever got wasn’t an intentional reference to him slapping Chris Rock,” another said.

“The amount of times they said the word ‘hit’ in this episode,” a commenter added, “it can’t be by accident lol.”
