Woman Arrested at Mar-a-Lago With ‘Urgent Message’ For Trump

A woman was charged Monday night after approaching President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach estate, Mar-a-Lago, and telling U.S. Secret Service agents she had an “urgent message” for the president while claiming to have firearms in her vehicle.

Mar-a-Lago is the president’s permanent home, located in South Florida. He spends the majority of his free time between his resorts in New Jersey and Florida, which are protected by local police and the Secret Service.

Since his first term as president, Trump has experienced numerous trespass situations on his Florida property. The security breaches are significant due to Mar-a-Lago’s status as President Trump’s residence and a recurring venue for official business and high-level meetings. The club’s semi-public nature—hosting private events, guests, and members alongside the president and his family—creates unique challenges for federal security agencies.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Palm Beach Police Department, 49-year-old Caroline Shaw approached the south gate of the property and told Secret Service that she had an “urgent message” for Trump while alerting agents she had firearms inside her vehicle, according to Secret Service agents on scene.

Shaw was then detained pending further investigation, and agents secured her vehicle while deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Secret Service agents searched the car, the affidavit says.

Police then arrested Shaw on misdemeanor charges for an expired vehicle registration and a suspended driver’s license. According to court records observed by Newsweek, Shaw has pled not guilty to both charges.

Shaw was then ordered to have no contact with President Trump, Mar-a-Lago or any Trump property.

Palm Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Sergeant Michael Ogrodnick told Newsweek via text message that the department also filed for a risk protection order for Shaw, which “is currently under review.”

Last month, another incident on Trump’s property occurred involving a man jumping a wall of the estate to “spread the Gospel” to Trump and marry his granddaughter, Kai, police said.

A White House official previously told Newsweek that Trump was made aware of the June incident and was briefed.
