Youth arrested with 70 bottles of Indian Phencidil in Bhurungamari

A youth was arrested with 70 bottles of Indian drug Phencidil in Bhurungamari of Kurigram. The young man named Ashraful Alam (20) was arrested by local village police and students from Vothat village of Sadar Union of the upazila around 2.30 am on Sunday and handed over to the police. The detained youth is the son of Azam Ali of that village.

According to the police and local sources, after receiving the information based on secret information, the village police of that area, Liton Mia, Ramzan Ali, along with several students, took a position on Ghunapara road next to Vothat Bazar. Ashraful was arrested with a plastic bag around 2:30 am. Later the bag was opened and 70 bottles of Indian Phencidil were taken out. When the incident was reported to the Bhurungamari police station, Ashraful was arrested and brought to the police station at night.

Bhurungamari police station OC Ruhul Amin confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a case has been filed against the detained person under the Narcotics Control Act and sent to the Kurigram court.
