16 people died in road accidents across the country on Eid day. Among them, one in Gulshan in the capital, three in Kalmakanda in Netrakona, two in Panchagarh, two in Guimara in Khagrachari and two in Narsingdi. The death of 16 people has come up in the information sent by Bangladesh reporters and district representatives.
The accidents happened at separate times on Thursday (April 11). Most of them died in motorcycle accidents.
Dhaka: A woman named Mamata Shikder (27) died after being hit by a private car in the capital's Gulshan. The driver named Sheikh Zahid Kamal (30) was seriously injured in this accident. Both of them are working as officers of United Hospital. The accident happened on Thursday (April 11) around 3:30 pm at Gulshan 55 road. A CNG driver took the woman to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a coma, where the doctor declared her dead around 5:30.
Sabuj Mia, the CNG driver who was brought to the hospital, said, I was going around the airport area with my wife Farzana. On the way, on Gulshan road number two, I saw the motorcyclist and the rider injured and lying on the road after being hit by a private car. Later, the injured woman was taken to the CNG and sent to the hospital. The woman died after visiting some local hospitals and was taken to Dhaka Medical.
Gulshan police station sub-inspector (SI) Ripon Kumar Biswas confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the motorcyclist who was hit by a private car on the Gulshan 55 road at around 3:30 pm died in Dhaka Medical. The motorcyclist is admitted to United Hospital with serious injuries.
He also said that the dead woman's name is Mamata Shikder (27) and her house is in Gulshan Kalachandpur area. Injured Zahid Kamal's house is in West Agargaon area. They both work at United Hospital. Zahid was going to take the woman to her home in Kalachandpur on his motorcycle after finishing his duty.

The deceased youths are Hriday Mia (24), son of Kabir Mia of Koyra village in Upazila Nazirpur Union, Md. of Amtala village. Halim Mia (22) son of Zainal Mia and Nabi Hossain (35) son of Mojibur Mia of Hatshira Shibnagar village.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalmakanda Police Station Mohammad Lutful Haque confirmed the truth of the incident.
Panchagarh: An uncle-nephew died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Panchagarh while out for Eid. In the same incident, four others are under treatment at Rangpur Medical. The accident took place on the regional highway in Nabinbandar area of the upazila municipality at noon.
The deceased are Sabbir Hossain (16) son of Yakub Ali of Lohagara Shuparitola village of Kaliganj Union, Kaushar Ali (15) son of Baset Ali of the same area, Sabbir (17) son of Majnur of Khan Para area of Debiganj Sadar Union, Barkat (16) son of Hazrat Ali of the same area. .
Debiganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Sarkar Iftekharul Mokaddem confirmed the death of two people.
Reed: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Guimara of Khagrachari. The deceased are Mehedi Hasan Payal (20) and Ali Hossain (17). The accident happened on Thursday (April 11) in Battali and Barapilak areas of Guimaras. The victims were motorcycle riders.

Also, a college student was killed in another road accident in Khagrachari. His name is Digant Chakma (18). The accident took place on Thursday (April 11) evening in Mahalchhara area of Khagrachhari district headquarters. Digant is a resident of Mubachhari area of Mahalchhari. Narsingdi: Two motorcyclists were killed after being hit by a passenger bus in Narsingdi. Another rider of the motorcycle was seriously injured. He has been sent to Dhaka. The accident took place at Dagaria Namaksthan of Narsingdi on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 7:30 pm on Thursday. The deceased are Shahin (23) and Sunny (22) of Gauchia Shawgat area of Narayanganj district.
The relatives of the deceased said that 3 friends Shaheen, Sunny and Sayem from Gauchia Shawgat area of Narayanganj district went to Bhairab to enjoy the joy of Eid. After the trip, they were returning home. The motorcycle was overtaking a bus in Dagaria area of Narsingdi on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. At that time, another passenger bus coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle. At that time the motorcycle went under the bus. Sunny and Shaheen died on the spot. Another motorcycle rider named Sayem was seriously injured. The doctor sent to Narsingdi 100 bed district hospital after rescuing him sent Sayem to Dhaka.

Chuadanga: On the day of Eid, a teenager named Shamim Hossain died after losing control of his motorcycle while traveling with his friends. The accident took place on Darshana-Hijalgari road in Chuadanga on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, on Thursday afternoon, Shamim went out on a motorcycle with his friends. Meanwhile, he lost control in the motorcycle race in front of Dihi Kestpur Farm on Darshana-Hijalgari road. It hit a palm tree on the side of the road. Shamim was rescued and taken to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital in critical condition. From there, Shamim died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Narail: Two people were killed in a road accident when three friends from Faridpur went for a ride on a motorcycle on the day of Eid. Two others were injured in this incident.
The accident took place at Douyatla in Sadar Upazila of the district on Thursday (April 11) around 8:30 pm.
The name of the deceased motorcycle rider is Alchaf Matubbar (22). He is the son of Asad Matubbar of Kumorpatti village in Saltha Upazila of Faridpur. Another pedestrian was killed. His identity is not yet available.
According to the police sources, three youths of Faridpur on their way to Narail from Faridpur with a motorcycle lost control and hit a betel nut tree on the side of the road when they reached Douatla area of Sadar. Among the three riders on the motorcycle, Alchaf Matubbar died on the spot.
Locals rescued two others on the motorcycle and a pedestrian with serious injuries and took them to the hospital where the unidentified pedestrian also died while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, 5 people, including three members of the same family, died on Wednesday afternoon in Sardghat of the capital due to the torn rope of the launch. Three of the deceased are from the same family – Pirojpur's Mathbaria Md. Belal (30), his wife Mukta (24) and their four-year-old daughter Maisha.
Zahirul Islam, brother-in-law of deceased Belal's wife, rushed to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford) after hearing about the accident. He said that Belal worked in a garment factory in Gazipur. He lived there with his wife and daughter. They came to Sadarghat to go to Pirojpur by launch on the day of Eid.
He said that Belal's parents died long ago. He also lost his life while returning to the village with his wife and children on the day of Eid. There was no one left in Belal's family.
On April 11, around 3:30 pm, five people were killed when another launch rammed between two launches at Sadarghat. Apart from Belal's family, the others killed in the accident are Rabiul (19) of Thakurgaon and Ripon Howladar (38) of Patuakhali.
