2 platoon BGB deployed in DM, medical service started in Mitford


2 platoons of BGB have been deployed for the security of doctors in Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital. In addition, Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital has resumed medical services in the emergency department to ensure the safety of doctors.

The BGB was deployed on Sunday (September 1) amid the announcement of the complete shutdown of the intern doctors of Dhaka Medical. Apart from this, a case has been filed in Shahbag police station regarding the attack on doctors in DM.

Meanwhile, Health Advisor Noor Jahan Begum sat in a meeting with the doctors of Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital. Two coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement are also participating in this meeting in the room of Brigadier General Asaduzzaman, director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Earlier in the afternoon in a press conference at the Secretariat, the advisor urged the doctors to withdraw the 'complete shutdown' program by promising to bring those involved in the attack under the law. He said that two separate investigation committees have been formed. The recommendations of the committee will be implemented.

Earlier on Saturday (August 31) afternoon, the incident started with the death of Ahsanul Haque Diptar, a student of Bangladesh University of Business Technology (BUBT). Complaining that his death was due to negligence, the students of Diptar Campus entered the operation theater of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital and beat up the doctors. Neurosurgery department doctors Imran, Mashrafe and Zubair were injured.

In this incident, the intern doctors of Dhaka Medical went on a strike to demand the arrest of the attackers and security. On the same demand, they have announced a complete shutdown in the whole country without providing treatment. Abdul Ahad, Registrar of the hospital (Neuro Surgery Green Unit) announced this program on behalf of the doctors of Dhaka Medical said that we are announcing a strike program across the country. Nurses and employees of Dhaka Medical also expressed solidarity with this movement of doctors. On behalf of the nurses, Jamal Uddin Badsha said, we are expressing solidarity with the doctors. Our demand is to ensure the safety of nurses at all workplaces.
