22 lakh rupees robbery in Keraniganj, 1 arrested by mob

In Keraniganj, Dhaka, a robbery of Tk 22 lakh took place while going to deposit the money of the cigarette company in the bank. In this incident, a dacoit named Babul Islam (37) was arrested and handed over to the police by local people. The incident took place near RAB 10 camp in Mujahidnagar area of ​​Dhaka-Mawa highway under South Keraniganj police station around 12 noon on Sunday (August 25).

It is known that three employees of a cigarette dealer company called Sales Promotional Service Limited from Chunkutia Pakapol area under Dakshin Keraniganj police station, accountant Touhidul Islam, office boy Billal Hossain and auto driver Sajib were going to deposit 22 lakh rupees in Rajendrapur National Bank. At that time, a hi-rez microbus stopped their auto van in the vicinity of RAB 10 camp on Dhaka-Mawa highway, took the accountant and office boy hostage at gunpoint, beat them blindfolded and put them in the car and beat the auto driver from inside the locker set in the auto. 22 lakh took Rs. Later, the microbus entered the Jhilmil residential area via Mujahidnagar, dropped the accountant and the office boy from the vehicle and headed towards the Dhaleswari toll plaza. When the van driver Sajib informed the matter on the mobile phone of the other people of the company around the toll plaza, the people of the company took a stand at the toll plaza. After the microbus reached the toll plaza, after a person got out of the car to pay the toll, when the company people chased, the microbus broke the barricade of the toll plaza leaving the member of the bandit group who got out of the car and ran away quickly. Later the people of the company caught the member of the dacoit gang with the help of locals and handed him over to the police.

Inspector Operation Rajib Hossain of Dakshin Keraniganj police station confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the detained person is a member of the dacoit group. The operation is continuing to arrest the looted money and other members of the dacoit gang. Preparations are underway to file a case in this incident.
