The police have surrounded the vault of Mutual Trust Bank


The fire service brought under control the fire at the Mutual Trust Bank in Dholaikhal of the capital. Police have been deployed to ensure the security of the bank after controlling the fire. Besides, because there is money in the bank vault, the police are not allowing anyone to enter the building.

Police cordoned off the building of Mutual Trust Bank immediately after the fire broke out on Saturday (May 18).

In this regard, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Wari Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Suranjana Saha said that immediately after the fire, a sufficient number of policemen have been deployed at the scene. The fire has now been put out but policemen remain in front of the building. The bank authorities have informed us that there is money in the bank vault. Policemen are on guard there to ensure the overall security of the bank including the security of money.

Besides, there are senior officers of the bank at the scene and the policemen are working in coordination with them. No one is allowed inside the bank for now.

Meanwhile, at 11:57 p.m., 5 units of the fire service brought the fire under control in an effort of one and a half hours. Fire services believe the fire may have started from the AC. However, there were no casualties.

In this regard, the duty officer in the control room of the fire service, Lima Khanom, said that the fire at Dholaikhal Mutual Trust Bank has been brought under control. The fire was brought under control at 11:57 pm. Initially, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage was not known.
