The 'Walton-BSPA Sports Carnival-2024' is being organized by Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) under the auspices of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, a sports-friendly company.
Today Saturday (May 18, 2024) morning table tennis event was held at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Wooden Floor. Dainik Janakantha's Rumel Khan became the champion of this event for the eighth time. The runner-up is news connection Md. Shamim Hasan and third was Mahmudunnabi Chanchal of Daily Khabar Kagaz.
In the same event, Rumel Khan and Mahmudunnabi Chanchal became champions for the ninth time in doubles. Rumel Khan won the double crown through this. Mojibur Rahman and Morsalin Ahmed duo became runners-up in doubles and Md. came third. Shamim Hasan and Sajjad Hossain Mukul pair.
This time more than hundred members of BSPA are participating in 10 events in 7 disciplines. The events are – Carrom Singles and Doubles, Table Tennis Singles and Doubles, Chess, Shooting, Archery, Swimming, Call Bridge and Twenty Nine. All the matches will be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium and its adjoining venues.
Abdul Mannan Ladu Trophy and cash prize will be given to the best athletes of the sports carnival. Trophies and cash prizes are also available for the top two runners-up. Besides, crest and prize money for the best in each event.
