Babar Ali (34), born in Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong, became the fifth Bangladeshi to conquer the world's highest peak Mount Everest. His father Liaquat Ali and mother Lutfunnahar Begum are excited about their child's Everest victory.

Babar's father Liaquat Ali said in a response on Sunday (May 19) noon, 'Today my happiness is endless. My son has presented Bangladesh in the world court. This achievement is joy-pride-joy.'

He also said, 'I was getting news from yesterday night. Got the final news at 8am today, son has conquered Everest. After that, people started coming home from different places. The whole house is floating with joy today.'

Babar Ali's mother Lutfunnahar Begum said, 'The boy had a long dream to conquer Everest. Babur was a very brilliant student. Although he started his career as a doctor, his passion was travelling. Because my son will go to Everest, as a mother I have fear in my heart, but I have courage.'

He also said, 'I have been worried and anxious for the past few days. Will the boy be able to climb and descend Mount Everest properly? I prayed all the time. In the end, Babur conquered Everest in good health. It is a matter of pride for us.'

'We are still worried. Because Babur has not come down yet. The worry will not end until the boy comes to my chest.' He added.

It should be noted that Babur's Mount Everest expedition started from April 1. He reached the base camp of Everest on 10 April. He started his journey from base camp on April 26 and reached Everest Camp-2, but he returned to adapt to the environment.

Then Babar Ali had to wait for a long time for suitable weather to climb Everest. The journey finally started on May 14. He reached Camp II that day, Camp III on May 18, and Camp Four early on May 19.

Babar Ali climbed the peak known as the Death Zone in the early hours of May 19 and conquered Mount Everest.
