Death of a young man due to electrocution in Kushtia All Bengal

A young man named Ramzan Ali (35) died of electrocution while drawing water from a pond to a mosque with the help of an electric motor in Kushtia.

The accident happened on Friday (May 24) morning in the suburban Barkhada Danepara area. Deceased Ramzan Ali is the son of deceased Ayub Ali of the same area.

According to local sources, the construction work of the mosque was going on in the neighborhood. At around 11 o'clock on Friday, Ramzan Ali was electrocuted while drawing water from the pond with the help of an electric motor connected to the electricity connection from the side of the house in order to wet the sand below the mosque in order to offer Jumma prayers.

Later the locals rescued him and rushed him to Kushtia General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Later his body was sent to the morgue for post-mortem.

Regarding the accident, Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Sohail Rana said, there was a pond at the scene. The owner of the land filled the pond with sand and prepared to build the house. But the locals prevented it and built a mosque overnight. Further investigation is going on in this regard.
