The US-Iran wants to sit again in talks before the end of the ceasefire

The United States and Iran want to hold direct talks once again before the end of the 14-day ceasefire. Discussions have started between the government officials of the two countries in this regard.

They prefer Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, as the venue for the second round of talks. According to a report by the American media Bloomberg, AFP said that even after the meeting in Islamabad failed on April 11, the officials of the two countries are interested in keeping the diplomatic channels open between them.

AFP contacted Pakistan after the report was published in Bloomberg. Pakistani officials said they are in regular contact with officials from both countries and continue to try to resolve differences between the US and Iran through diplomatic channels.

It should be noted that the United States has been in conflict with the country for the past two decades over Iran's nuclear project and missile program. On these two issues, the dialogue between Tehran and Washington lasted for 21 days from February 6 to February 27. The dialogue ended on February 27 without any compromise agreement.

The next day, on February 28, the US military launched Operation Epic Fury in Iran. Along with Washington, Israel also started the military operation 'Operation Roaring Lion' in Iran at the same time.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran for 37 consecutive years, was killed on the first day of the Iran-US-Israel war. In addition, several important and senior officials of the ruling Islamic Republic of Iran were killed in the US-Israeli attack.

The United States and Iran announced a cease-fire on April 7, the 39th day of the war, in an attempt to defuse tensions through diplomatic means. In continuation of that, on April 11, the government representatives of the two countries sat in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for dialogue. But after 21 hours of talks, the meeting ended without signing any compromise agreement.
