2 killed by bus in Sunamganj

Two youths riding a motorcycle died after being hit by a passenger bus in Sunamganj's Shantiganj upazila. The accident took place on the Jagannathpur-Sunamganj regional road in Dargapasha area of ​​the upazila on Monday (June 3) noon.

The deceased are Shibbir Ahmad (33), son of deceased Abul Kalam of Chhatarkona village of Vishwambharpur upazila of Sunamganj and Saddam Hossain (35), son of Riaz Uddin of the same village.

According to the police, a Sunamganj-bound passenger bus leaving Jagannathpur upazila hit a Jagannathpur-bound motorcycle in Shantiganj's Dargapasha area. Motorcyclist Shibbir Ahmed died on the spot. The other rider, Saddam Hussain, was seriously injured and taken to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital by locals. The doctor on duty there declared Saddam Hussein dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shantiganj police station Kazi Moktadir Hossain said that one person died on the spot in the road accident. Another died after being taken to a hospital in Sylhet. We recovered the dead body of Shibbir and sent it to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
