In the fourth phase of the upazila election, who became the chairman

Voting in 60 upazilas has ended in the fourth phase of the sixth upazila parishad election. Voting was held on Wednesday (June 5) from 8 am to 4 pm. After the counting of votes, the concerned returning officers announced the results of the election at night.

During the polling, there were some irregularities including fake votes, expulsion of agents, but no major untoward incidents were reported.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that 34.33 percent votes were cast in the fourth phase.

In the fourth phase, one chairman, three vice-chairmen and one female vice-chairman have already been elected unopposed in 60 upazilas. A total of 721 candidates including 251 candidates for the post of chairman, 265 for the post of vice chairman and 205 for the post of female vice chairman are contesting in this election. Total number of voters in this phase is 2 crore 17 lakh 34 thousand 255 people.

Rangpur: Polling was held in Badarganj and Taraganj upazilas of Rangpur in the fourth phase of upazila council elections. Upazila Awami League organizing secretary Fazle Rabbi Sweet has been elected privately for the third consecutive time as chairman in Badarganj upazila. He got 61 thousand 596 votes in Cup-Peach symbol. His closest rival Upazila Jubo League convener Hasan Tabikur Chowdhury got 45 thousand 752 votes in the motorcycle symbol.

On the other hand, Awami League leader Anichur Rahman Liton was elected as the chairman of Taraganj Upazila Parishad for the third time. He got 41 thousand 735 votes in doat-pen symbol. His nearest rival Jatiya Party candidate Shahinur Islam Marshall got 25 thousand 186 votes on the motorcycle symbol.

Sunamganj: In the fourth phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections, Khairul Huda Chapal of the motorcycle symbol has won in Sunamganj Sadar Upazila Parishad elections. District Jubo League president Khairul Huda Chapal got 36 thousand 194 votes in the results of 78 centers. His nearest rival, the former president of District Chhatra League, Fazle Rabbi Samar got 25 thousand 254 votes. 2 lakh 28 thousand 533 voters in Sunamganj Sadar Upazila Parishad election. Among them 1 lakh 16 thousand 791 male and 1 lakh 11 thousand 741 female voters. Hijra is one. There are 78 polling stations in the upazila.

Barguna: Golam Sarwar Forkan in Amtali of Barguna and Moniruzzaman Mintu in Taltali have been elected upazila chairman in the fourth phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections.

In Amtali Upazila Parishad elections, Golam Sarwar Forkan was elected as Upazila Chairman by getting 37 thousand 188 votes. His nearest rival Elman Uddin Ahmed got 10 thousand 891 votes. Golam Sarwar was elected as Forkan Chairman by getting more than 26 thousand 297 votes.

Taltali Upazila Parishad. Moniruzzaman Mintu was elected as the chairman by getting 20 thousand 396 votes with the pineapple symbol. His closest candidate Rajbiul Kabir Jomaddar got 18 thousand 413 votes. By getting more than one thousand 983 votes. Moniruzzaman Mintu has been elected chairman.

Chandpur: In the 4th phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad election, Khaje Ahmed Majumdar won the post of chairman in the Faridganj Upazila Parishad election of Chandpur. 22.30 percent of the total 3 lakh 72 thousand 669 voters have voted. Among them, Khaje Ahmed Majumder was elected by getting 60874 votes. Amir Azam Reza, the nearest rival, got 20021 votes. The difference between the votes of the two people is 40853 votes.

According to the office of the upazila election officer, there are a total of 3 lakh 72 thousand 669 voters in Faridganj upazila. Among them, 1 lakh 95 thousand 122 male voters and 1 lakh 77 thousand 557 female voters. Voters will exercise their right to vote through EVMs in 874 booths of 118 polling stations. Besides, out of total 118 centers, 7 centers have been identified as risky. Additional security measures have been taken for these centers.

Feni: Polling has been held in Chagalnaya Upazila of Feni in the fourth phase of Upazila Parishad elections. Mizanur Rahman Majumdar, a member of the District Awami League Executive Committee, was elected to the post of chairman in this upazila by getting 54 thousand 921 votes in cup-pearl symbol. His nearest rival ASM Sahid Ullah Majumder, candidate of Doat-Kalam symbol, got 1,349 votes.

Jessore: Voting was held in Jessore Sadar Upazila in the fourth phase of Sixth Upazila Parishad elections. In the private results, Touhid Chakladar Fontu, the candidate of the motorcycle symbol, was elected for the post of Jessore Sadar Upazila Chairman by getting 57 thousand 914 votes. His nearest rival Fatima Anwar got 55 thousand 610 votes in horse symbol.

Sirajganj: Abdul Matin Chowdhury has been elected as Kamarkhand upazila chairman of the district. He was the former upazila chairman.

Golam Hossain Shubhon Sarkar has been elected chairman in Raiganj upazila.

Sarishabari (Jamalpur): Organizational Secretary of Upazila Awami League. Rafiqul Islam was elected as the chairman by getting 42 thousand 213 votes in the pineapple symbol. His closest rival is a member of the Upazila Awami League Advisory Council. Taleb Uddin got 19 thousand 147 votes in doat-pen symbol.

Babuganj (Barisal): General Secretary of Barisal District Women Workers League Mosa. Farzana bint Wahab won the post of chairman by getting 28 thousand 514 votes in the pineapple symbol. His nearest rival Upazila Awami League general secretary Sardar Khaled Hossain Swapan got 25 thousand 114 votes.
