Last India-Canada match on point sharing

Three consecutive matches were abandoned at Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill due to rain. First match between Sri Lanka and Netherlands. Then the USA-Ireland match on Friday. Today Saturday (June 15, 2024) the match between India and Canada at the same ground was also abandoned.

The toss could not be done at the scheduled time due to wet ground. After that, the match officials did not consider it fit to play even after visiting the field several times. Umpire Richard Ketelbara and Sharfuddaula Ibn Shaheed Saikat visited the last field at 9:30 PM Bangladesh time. They looked around the field for a while. They make sure the field's outfield is still wet and soft. Also the sun is not visible.

After returning from the field, they declared the match abandoned. As a result, the players of both the teams shared the points and left the field shaking hands.

India went into the Super Eight with 7 points after winning 3 out of 4 matches and sharing points in one. With them, the United States won two of the four matches, lost one and shared the points in one to enter the last eight with 5 points.

Canada is third in the table with 3 points from 4 matches. Pakistan, with one match in hand, is in fourth place with 2 points from 3 matches. And Ireland is at the bottom of the table with 1 point from 3 matches.

India will go to Group-1 in the Super Eight. Where they will get (B2, C1, D2) Bangladesh, Afghanistan/West Indies and Australia/Scotland/England.

On the other hand, the United States will go to Group-2. Where they will get (B1, C2, D1) Australia/Scotland/England, Afghanistan/West Indies and South Africa.
