The local government department has removed 988 vice chairmen of 494 upazila parishads across the country. Among them 494 vice chairmen (male) and 494 female vice chairmen.
Today Monday (August 19) a notification in this regard has been issued by the local government department.
It has been said that these vice chairmen and all female vice chairmen were removed from their respective posts of Upazila Parishad by applying section 13D of the Upazila Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024.
Earlier, separate notifications were issued removing 493 upazila chairmen. A notification in this regard was issued by the local government department. Besides, due to death, the post of Chairman of Koira Upazila Parishad has been declared vacant.
