No such calamity has come to Bangladesh in memory: Ahmadullah

Several districts of the country are affected by severe floods. So far more than 29 lakh people in eight districts have been affected by the ongoing floods. In Feni, Comilla, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria, Chittagong, Moulvibazar, Khagrachari and Habiganj, the residents are living a life without humanity.

Already, the army-navy and fire service members have come to the rescue of millions of people trapped in water. 1 thousand 534 shelters have been opened to shelter the water trapped and affected people in these areas. Various individuals, social, religious organizations and political party leaders have come forward to help the flood affected people.

In this situation, Sheikh Ahmadullah, founder chairman of As Sunnah Foundation and Islamic personality and negotiator, has made several calls to the locals who are safe, seeking help from Almighty Allah. He made this call in a post on his Facebook account on Thursday (August 22) night.

He writes on Facebook, 'Many people fear that the water of the Indian dam will enter Bangladesh more widely. Those who are already active in the rescue work, including the Bangladesh Army, hope to strengthen their activities to the maximum. At the same time, I am calling on the locals who are safe to participate in the rescue work as much as possible.'

Mentioning that no such calamity has come to Bangladesh during the commemoration, he writes, 'This is worse than the flood of Sylhet in 1922. For those who are in the building, let the roommate stay in your room. Today is the time to forget the high and low differences and be united. Come forward to help each other regardless of religion-caste-party.'

He also writes, small sacrifices at the moment of human crisis can be a means of attaining the satisfaction of the great Lord and paradise. May Allah help us.
