Many people in the country live in stress, anxiety, depression, and panic due to the unrest caused by the uprising and its aftermath. To combat this crisis, several mental health services and support organizations have taken initiatives to provide free mental health care. As part of this initiative, a campaign titled “Pashe Achi” has been launched this month and will continue for the next 2 months.
PsychoCoach Bangladesh, Mental Health Professionals for Bangladesh (MHPB), and Cham Wellness are behind this online mental health support initiative. Saima Akhtar from PsychoCoach Bangladesh, Zohra Parveen from MHPB and Rafiul Islam from Cham Wellness are supervising the program.
More than 35 clinical psychologists are involved in this “Besides” program, who have already provided mental health care to more than 400 people. A Webinar titled “Light of Hope” was organized on August 23, through which more people were informed about this service.
The organizations have taken this social service initiative to improve the mental health of all including students, law enforcement officers, parents, teachers.
