18 former ministers and 8 MPs are banned from leaving the country


The court has banned the departure of 18 former ministers and 8 parliament members of the Awami League government. On Monday (September 2), Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad Assamach Jaglul Hossain's court gave this order in view of two separate applications of the ACC.

Those who have been banned from leaving the country – former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, former State Minister of Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, former State Minister of Shipping Ministry Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, former State Minister of Primary and Mass Education Md. Zakir Hossain, former Expatriates and Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed, former Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources. Enamul Haque, former Minister of State for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Swapan Bhattacharya, former Minister of Commerce Tipu Munshi, former Minister of State for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Tajul Islam, former religious affairs minister Faridul Haque Khan, textile and jute minister Golam Dastgir Gazi, former state minister of youth and sports ministry. Zahid Ahsan Russell, former Minister of State for Disaster Management and Relief. Mohibbur Rahman, former Water Resources Minister Anwar Hossain, former Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu.

Besides, former parliamentarians Benazir Ahmed, Kazi Nabil Ahmed and Shahidul Islam Bakul, AKM Sarwar Jahan, Sheikh Afil Uddin, Meher Afroz, Abu Saeed Al Mahmud and Sheikh Helal Uddin have been banned.

On this day, the deputy director of the ACC. Jahangir Alam appealed for ban on the departure of 10 former ministers and three parliamentarians. Meanwhile, ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam conducted the hearing. After the hearing, the court gave this order.

In addition, ACC Deputy Director Md. Mostafizur Rahman applied for a ban on the emigration of eight former ministers and five members of parliament. ACC Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir heard the hearing. After the hearing, the court gave this order.
