Party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia recited Quran and prayed for the soul of BNP founder and former president Shahid Ziaur Rahman.
On Wednesday (October 8) night, he left his rented house in Gulshan of the capital and went to the tomb of Ziaur Rahman in Shere-Bangla Nagar. There he stayed for some time in silence, recited the Qur'an and participated in special prayers.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, members of the party's standing committee and senior leaders were present along with Khaleda Zia.
BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter. He said that the chairperson's personal physician and member of the standing committee of the party Dr. The news was reported to the media citing AZM Zahid Hossain.
After the prayer, Khaleda Zia briefly spoke to the party leaders and later returned to her home.
