Call for more rapid humanitarian aid to Gaza

Referring to the need to send humanitarian aid to Gaza more quickly, German Foreign Minister Annalena Bierbock said that trucks that enter Gaza with humanitarian aid through the Rafah border are searched three times. All things are taken down. Either way this process needs to be speeded up.

Beerbock made this comment while visiting Kerem Shalom, Israel-Gaza border yesterday (March 26) local time. News from international media.

Pointing out that the situation in Gaza is hellish, he said, the borders should be opened quickly and more humanitarian aid should be sent. He also said that Germany has increased the allocation to the World Food Program.

The German foreign minister said that an additional 10 million euros have been given to bring the situation in Gaza under control. Beerbock said both Egypt and Israel had given him information on how the trucks entered Gaza. In fact, he was the first foreign minister Israel allowed to visit Kerem Shalom. He was shown how 120 trucks are loaded with humanitarian aid to Gaza every day.

It should be noted that before the October 7 incident, 500 trucks were carrying daily necessities to Gaza. Among them, 300 trucks passed through the Kerem Shalom border. It has reduced to 120 trucks now.

Israel says 12 trucks cross the border every hour. These trucks are checked at two scanners at the Israeli border. It is seen whether guns, bullets etc. are being sent with the goods or not.

However, the news agency DPA quoted Israeli representatives as saying that it is possible for more trucks to cross the border. But not enough Palestinian drivers can be found to drive the trucks.
