The police have arrested 4 members of an inter-district gang of thieves who came to steal from hotels in different areas of Sirajganj on the pretext of business. During this time, the tools used in the theft and the stolen goods were recovered.
Sirajganj Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Rezwanul Islam said this in a press conference at noon on Friday (April 5).
The members of the inter-district thief gang are Zakir Hossain, Atiyar Rahman, resident of Madaripur district, Rafiq the trader and Shailkupar Sadhan Biswas of Jhenaidah, the buyer of stolen goods.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rezwanul Islam said that on the basis of information technology and secret information, 3 active members of the inter-district thief gang were arrested by raiding the Al-Hamra residential hotel in the Bazar station area of Sirajganj city. During this time, tools used in theft – cutter, range, acid and iron rod were seized from them. Along with that, some goods stolen from them were also recovered. Later, based on the information of those arrested, a person named Sadhan Biswas of Shailkupar Jhenaidah was arrested; Whoever buys these stolen goods.
The Superintendent of Police also said that they had stayed in Sirajganj from other districts with the intention of stealing from the empty houses of people who had gone to the village on Eid holidays. Whether there is anyone else with them is being investigated. After filing a case at Sadar police station, they were sent to jail through the court.
