A different picture in Khulna University, students protest to stop the Vice-Chancellor

In various public universities of the country, teachers and students protested to demand the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor, but a different picture was seen in Khulna University. When the news spread that the 'Vice-Chancellor was resigning', hundreds of students gathered in the administrative building and protested.

On Sunday (August 18) afternoon, they protested to prevent the Vice-Chancellor from resigning. At this time, the area adjacent to the administrative building vibrated with the students' slogans.

At one point, they entered the vice-chancellor's room and said, “We have come to know that you are going to resign today.” We don't want your resignation. We will not accept your resignation under any circumstances. For a long time, students stayed in the administration building and chanted slogans not to resign. At one point, the Vice-Chancellor came down from the administration building and appeared in front of the students.

At that time, Khulna University Coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Zahurul Tanveer said, “Our only demand is that the Vice-Chancellor should continue to work in the way he is working for the proper management of the university. If there is any obstacle, we will deal with it unitedly.” Even if there is internal or external pressure for his resignation, the students will resist.

After hearing the students' presence and their speech, Professor Mahmud Hossain said, “This is a great achievement in my teaching life.” A team works here. I will consider the claim you have brought and I will discuss it with my team and then get back to you.

Later the Vice-Chancellor returned to his office and the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mosammat Hosne Ara, acting registrar Prof. Khan Gholam Quddus discussed with the teachers.
