Alamgir, the controversial member of UGC, resigned

The controversial member of the University Grants Commission, Professor Muhammad Alamgir resigned. He resigned due to personal reasons. On Sunday (September 8) morning, the senior secretary of the secondary and higher education department of the Ministry of Education said. He submitted his resignation letter to Sheikh Abdur Rashid.

In his resignation letter, he wrote, I am working for the second term as a full-time member of the University Grants Commission. As it is not possible for me to perform the duties of the said post due to personal reasons, I am resigning from the said post on September 8 and I am rejoining the original post of Professor (Grade-1) in the Civil Engineering Department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), my previous workplace on September 9. will do

It is to be noted that when the quota reform movement was at its height, UGC announced the closure of all the universities in the country with a sudden notification on the night of July 16. Criticism is created on this matter. It appears that the UGC, the regulatory body, cannot issue such a declaration to close the university. The UGC officials also admitted the matter.
