In Kurigram, a mother named Shirina Akhtar has been accused of selling a newborn to a childless woman out of anger at her husband. The father of the newborn, Habibur Rahman, came to know about the matter and filed a complaint at Ulipur police station on Wednesday (April 3) around noon to get the child back. Later, within 2 hours, the police rescued the newborn and returned him to his parents.

According to police sources, Parveen Akhter (30) and her niece, childless, of Ramshing Munsi Para area of ​​Nazimkhan Union of Rajarhat Upazila were killed on the basis of secret information. Ulipur Thana police rescued the newborn after raiding Selina Begum's house and returned her to her parents.

Accused Shirina Akhter said that her husband Habibur Rahman did not keep track of her for a long time. He did not give maintenance. While giving birth to this child, the clinic accumulated a bill of 14,000 taka. He sold the newborn child in despair.

Milton, the manager of Doctors Clinic of Ulipur Upazila said, a few days ago a woman named Shirina Akhter had a cesarean in our clinic. Later, the woman's supporters paid the clinic bill of around 14,000 taka and took them away. We don't know what happened next.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ulipur police station Golam Mortuza confirmed the fact of the incident and said that after rescuing the child, his mother Parveen Begum burst into tears. On the other hand, his relatives including his father are very happy to get the child back. Also, the long-standing dispute between husband and wife has been settled.
