Autopass decision in HSC education

In the face of students' agitation, the Ministry of Education accepted the demand of autopass by canceling the examination of the remaining subjects of the HSC and equivalent examinations.

Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, told reporters this information on Tuesday (August 20) afternoon. However, the ministry has not yet issued a notification in this regard.

Tapan Kumar also said that how the exam results will be published will be announced later.

On Tuesday, a meeting was held in the Education Ministry under the chairmanship of Wahiduddin Mahmud, education advisor to the interim government. It was decided in the meeting that the remaining subjects of HSC and equivalent examinations of this year will be of half marks (50). The re-examination date will be delayed by another two weeks from September 11.

However, in the face of students' agitation, the Ministry of Education accepted the demand of autopass by canceling the examination of the remaining subjects.

Earlier, the students entered the Ministry of Education after protesting in front of the Ministry of Finance in the afternoon to demand the cancellation of the examination. During this time they chanted slogans like 'Our demand is only one, we want to cancel the exam', 'compromise not struggle, struggle-struggle', 'examination not alternative, alternative-alternative', 'the movement cannot be stopped with logic', 'the struggle will continue' etc. stay

The examinees gathered in front of the Ministry of Education at the secretariat from morning. They entered the secretariat at noon to collect their demands.

Later, a delegation of 10 members on behalf of the students submitted a memorandum to the Education Advisor and entered the Ministry of Education for discussion. At that time, Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, assured the protesting students of a peaceful solution.
