Bobby students want resignation of Vice-Chancellor and Proctor despite apology

A group of students held a protest march and rally demanding the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor and Proctor of Barisal University (Bobby). They gave an ultimatum to resign within the next 24 hours. On Monday (August 19) at 1 o'clock in the morning, they held a rally on the ground floor of the academic building-1 of the campus and made this demand.

Earlier, during a discussion on Saturday (August 17), Bobby's current Vice-Chancellor and Proctor apologized for not being able to physically stand by the students during the anti-discrimination movement and for their mistakes. In this, they remain in power through 22 conditions given to general students.

Meanwhile, since the discussion meeting, various rumors have been heard about it. Many students in the university's Facebook-based group called 'Linkers' complained that they were not aware of the discussion. In view of this, usually a section of students protested to demand resignation.

On this day, the students took a procession from the ground floor and toured the various places of the university and stayed at the Vice-Chancellor's bungalow. Later they came to the ground floor again and met in the assembly. At this time, they are seen shouting slogans against the vice-chancellor and the proctor.

At that time, the students said that the current vice-chancellor and proctor harassed the students in various ways during the student movement. Even though there are many allegations of corruption and irregularities against them, they have not faced any question because they have always been under the control of the fascist Awami League government. As long as they hold on to the students, the students of Barisal University will not get the taste of true freedom.

The students also said that the university administration sometimes followed the words of two former mayors of Barisal City Corporation, and sometimes followed the words of Sadar MPs. Many teachers, including the vice-chancellor-proctor of the university, were seen more in the homes of Awami League leaders than in the university. These subjects were never taken well by ordinary students. The students gave an ultimatum to both of them to resign within the next 24 hours.

At this time, among others, Sirajul Islam of the law department, Md. of the marketing department. Sihab, Mizanur Rahman Mizan of English Department, Mosharof Hossain of History Department, Md. of Bengali Department. Ashiq Ahmed and other students gave speeches.

After the rally, the protesting students circled the campus again.
