Fire service divers have recovered the bodies of the missing mother and daughter in the incident of the boat sinking due to the impact of the bulkhead in Bhairab of Kishoreganj. Police Superintendent Mohammad Russell Sheikh confirmed this information on Saturday (March 23) afternoon.
They are policeman Sohel Rana's wife Mousumi (25) and their daughter Mahmuda (7). Still their son Raisul (5) is missing.
Also, the bodies of Rupa Dey (30), her brother's daughter Aradhya (12) and sister-in-law Belon Dey (38) and college student Anika Akhtar (18) of Raipura area of Narsingdi have not been recovered.
Deputy Assistant Director of Kishoreganj Fire Service Mohammad Enamul Haque said that the divers started the operation from 8 am. The two bodies were recovered around 1 pm. Apart from this, the boat that sunk in the accident has also been identified.
Earlier on Friday around 6 pm, a boat capsized under the Syed Nazrul Islam bridge in the Meghna river at Bhairab of Kishoreganj.
