Brooks Koepka Confirms Interest in PGA Tour Return from LIV Golf Miami

Brooks Koepka has been flirting with the PGA Tour in recent weeks. When it comes to where his future will take him, the current LIV Golf top individual winner hasn’t said anything outright, but he’s hinted at a lot.

If there was any doubt, Koepka dispelled it in a recent interview for The Times.

The five-time major winner not only confirmed that he has his hopes set on the PGA Tour, but also identified some of the tournaments that are still on his bucket list, despite having played them in the past, even winning a few.

“I still have a good relationship with everybody there,’ he said,” Koepka said. There’s a lot of ‘what-ifs’, but I’d be open to playing certain [PGA Tour] events.”

“Like I love Phoenix [Open]. The Cognizant Classic, because it’s my hometown. I’d love to play Dunhill [Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour], but if we can’t that’s OK. I’ve made my decision.”

The WM Phoenix Open holds a special place in Koepka’s heart as it was the first tournament he won on the PGA Tour (2015) and then won again in 2021. He has never won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, but has finished in the top 10 in four of his five appearances, including a tie for second in 2015.

A few weeks ago, Fred Couples assured that Brooks Koepka was interested in returning to the PGA Tour. Days later, Koepka addressed the issue without denying Couples’ claims.

“I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then we’ll see what happens,” Koepka said ahead of LIV Golf Singapore.

Days later, the West Palm Beach, Florida, native attended one of the TGL matches as a spectator. He was given a tour of the virtual course and was seen having a blast in the company of his PGA Tour colleagues.

More recently, his signals came in the form of criticism of LIV Golf. In his opinion, the league has not made enough progress in its four years of existence.

“I think we all hoped it would have been a little bit further along, and that’s no secret,” Koepka said during a press conference before the event in Miami.

Brooks Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf expires at the end of the 2026 season. After that date, it is unclear where he will be playing, but it should come as no surprise if he pursues a return to the PGA Tour.
