Cowboys Star CeeDee Lamb Addresses Contract Situation in New Hype Video

The Dallas Cowboys and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have not yet ironed out his contract grievances. Lamb continues to wait for a new offer and will continue to hold out of training camp until that happens.

With preseason set to wrap up, the Cowboys front office is still searching for a way to ensure that Lamb returns to the team for 2024. While Lamb waits, he has released a new hype video addressing his current holdout.

The video begins with Lamb sitting on a bench, stating, “Still waiting on that phone call, but until then we grind…”

A series of shots and video of Lamb working out follow the initial quote, showcasing the quickness and speed the Cowboys receiver is known for. Following the series of workout examples, Lamb finishes by stating, “Control what I can control and that’s to be the best version of me.”

Lamb has posted training videos before, reminding the Cowboys that he is staying ready for the 2024 season despite holding out for a better contract. The hope is owner Jerry Jones can figure out the right number for Lamb to return before Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season starts.

The initial response from Jones about the situation was that he was playing coy and indicated that a contract would not be happening quickly. That has certainly been the case, as Lamb did not report for minicamp and all of training camp. However, it appears that Jones might understand the only way out of this is to pay Lamb.

Jones recently told reporters that “good” conversations were being held between the front office and Lamb’s representation. However, no new deal has yet to be made public. According to the above video, Lamb is still waiting for “that call.”

It’s hard not to understand Lamb’s position in all this, as he secured 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. This is 50 yards and one touchdown less than NFL-leading receiver Tyreek Hill.

Lamb has upped his production every season and nearly has four years of over 1,000 yards. His rookie season is the only time he did not eclipse the 1,000 receiving yards mark, bringing in 935 yards.

Securing 935 yards is still very impressive for a rookie, and Lamb has proven that his skillset is worth the money early on in his career. Now, he is just waiting for the Cowboys’ front office to offer him a deal that will likely place him among the upper-echelon receivers in terms of annual salary.
