Cultural evening at Babi to protest against Maumita's murder

Students organized a cultural evening at Barisal University to protest the killing of Dr. Moumita Debnath of RG Kar Medical College, India. The program was held under the banner of ordinary students on the ground floor of the academic building-1 of the university on Monday (August 19) around 8 pm.

Earlier, on August 9, Dr. RG Kar Medical College of Kolkata. Moumita Debnath was accused of rape and murder. After this incident, protests started all over India including the outside world. Bobby students organized a cultural evening in protest.

Placards with various slogans such as 'Stop violence to woman', 'Sahingasta ke na boli', 'Tanu to Moumita Barisal to Kolkata' were seen in the hands of the students.

Students said, we want all countries of the world to be safe for women. We are here demanding justice for our sister's murder.

Sarkar, a student of the Department of Economics and one of the organizers, said that we are conducting this program to ensure women's freedom and a safe environment in the campus and Barisal city. I have kept this arrangement in tune with the program that is going on in Kolkata. Our main point is, we want a safe campus, where women can move safely. We will raise our voice against the violence of women wherever it occurs in the world.

Bobby's teachers, ordinary students, coordinators of anti-discrimination movement were present at this time.
