Seven people are reported to have died in Cyclone Remal's rampage so far. This cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal hit the coast around 8 pm on Sunday. A total of 5 people have died in Patuakhali, Satkhira, Bhola, Chittagong from yesterday to 11:30 am today due to this storm. Meanwhile, two people have died after being crushed by the wall at Rupatali in Barisal.

On Monday (May 27) morning, a pedestrian named Saiful Islam Hriday died after being crushed by a wall in the textile area of ​​Bayezid police station in Chittagong city.

Locals said that it was raining heavily during the storm. Meanwhile, Hridyo took shelter next to a wall. He was crushed to death when the wall suddenly collapsed. On receiving information, the fire service recovered his body.

A woman named Moneja Khatun died after being trapped in her house in Bhola due to Cyclone Rimal. She is the wife of Abdul Quader, a resident of Char Umed village of Lalmohan upazila.

Locals said that Moneja Khatun was sleeping in his house with one of his grandsons at night. He was buried in his tin house in the early morning storm. Moneja died on the spot. But his grandson is unharmed. Apart from this, another child named Maisha (4) lost her life when her house collapsed in Daulatkhane of the district.

Apart from this, an old man named Shaukat Moral died on his way to Napitkhali Shelter in Gabura Union of Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira on Sunday evening. In the afternoon of the same day, in Kauwarchar area of ​​Dhulasar Union of Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali, while protecting the sister from the flooded area due to the effect of Cyclone Rimal, Md. One named Shariful Islam died.

Meanwhile, the heavy cyclone 'Remal' has weakened and turned into a deep depression, said the Meteorological Department.

According to the special notification number 19 of the weather, the severe cyclone 'Remal', which is located in Koira and Khulna, is moving towards the north and weakening as a deep depression is currently located in Jessore and adjacent areas. It will move further north-eastwards and gradually shed rain and become a depression.

In this situation Payra and Mongla seaports have been asked to lower the distress signal number 10 and display the local warning signal number 3 instead. At the same time, Cox's Bazar and Chittagong seaports have been asked to lower the distress signal number 9 and display the local warning signal number 3 instead.

Fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to stay safe till Tuesday (May 28) morning and proceed with caution.
