Decision to withdraw DC of all districts

The interim government has decided to withdraw all the District Commissioners (DCs) of the country. They will be withdrawn by Tuesday (August 20). After that new appointment will be made.

Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Senior Secretary of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs attended the meeting. Mohammad Abdul Momen, Finance Secretary Dr. Khairuzzaman Majumdar along with several members of SSB.

According to sources, the help of five officials who were deprived during the previous government will be taken in the DC recruitment issue. They are – Nurjahan Khanam and Nazrul Islam of BCS 24th batch, Nurul Karim Bhuiya and Farida Khanam of 25th batch and Sarwar Alam of 27th batch.

It is learned that many DCOs have expressed their reluctance to perform their duties under the circumstances. They have already spoken to senior officials to take back the field administration. It has been decided to withdraw all the District Commissioners.

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in the student movement on August 5, appointments are being cancelled, new appointments and transfers are being made at various levels of administration.

The secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs has various complaints. Jahangir Alam was sent on compulsory retirement on Wednesday (August 14). On this day, a notification was issued from the Ministry of Public Administration.

On the other hand, contractual appointments of 11 secretaries and secretaries of various ministries, departments and organizations were also cancelled. A notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on the afternoon of the same day canceling their contractual appointment.

Then there were more notifications of cancellations, new appointments and transfers. It is said that it will continue in the future.
